Our city of Bloomfield is a small town in southeast Iowa with a population of about 2500. We have a wonderful school system located on the East end of town next to our 1million dollar multi purpose Community Center with a 2 court gym, walking and running track, a raquet ball court and excersize equipment for your total recreation and excersize workout.

Also close by are the local swimming pool & city park and country Club. We have a very beautiful Historic Courthouse and town square with many buisnesses and shops.

On the outsirts of town we have more recreation at our McGowen Recreation & Wildlife Area with cabins, RV hookups, 9 fishing ponds, camp grounds, hicking tracks and horse back riding tracks.

Lake Wapello State Park is nearby as well as Lake Lacy in Keosaqua and Lake Rathbun. Our own Lake Fisher with its picknick and hicking availability and its State record large mouth bass caught here, RV hookups and Disc golf soon to be constructed.

We are close to the famous American Gothic House painted by Iowan Grant Wood. Bloomfield is blessed to have an Amish community with its 69 Amish businesses such as Furniture making, sales shops, greenhouses, lumberyards, food, quilt shops, sawmills and others,
